Well, we are almost done with adding the second kitchen in our basement. Until then, we are a vendor for Simply Northwest and can use their kitchen. We are also looking at expanding to other local coffee stands. It is exciting!
Things have been crazy, with our second annual participation in the U-High Crab Feed and a major event for Simply Northwest. The contacts we have made have been incredible. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the expanion of Cakes by Rick.
Stay tuned for more changes!

Things have been moving along quickly in the world of Cakes by Rick. Our open house was very successful. It was so nice for Rick to see all of his supporters. Thank you for all who came to try samples. It was a fun evening.
Now, Rick has been busy providing Cake Pops to Shotzy's, and now speaking to other businesses who might like to carry Rick's products. As Rick's wife, I am so proud of him for trying new things and listening to my crazy ideas. I truly believe this is what Rick is meant to be doing. He is so talented! He takes pride in each and every order, and aims for perfection.
I try my best to update his calendar with all of his orders. He has three customer orders next week, so I know our house is going to smell like a bakery most of the time.
We recently found out of the rules of the new Cottage Food Law that was passed in Washington State. Rick will be able to continue making his products out of our home until he has gotten so busy, he can't.
The ultimate goal is for Rick to be able to pursue his passion full time. He will keep working on this goal, and I will be his biggest supporter and cheerleader.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support and logging onto my new website. It took a lot of time and energy from my wife to get it up and going; that's why I love her. As some of you may have heard, I'm going to compete this year at the Spokane County Interstate Fair in three different catigories, so please come out to cheer me on. Second, I'd like to thank Shotzy's Espresso for asking me to design and make the cake for their 10th Anniversary celebration. Please go see them on August 12th at the Shotzy's on Pines. Now, I'm in the process of making a ninja birthday cake for my nephew, Zach. Then, I am baking a cake for my other nephew, Shane; he wants me to make a Green Lantern cake for him. It is going to be interesting. I also get the treat of making my sister-in-law's 30th birthday cake. In Septemper, I have the priviledge of making my first wedding cake for my wife's student teacher, Kailey. I am kind of nervous about that one, but know it will be fine. Once again, thanks to everyone for their support and orders that make Cakes by Rick.
