Cakes vs. Cake Pops
A little over two years ago, we started a business relationship with Shotzy's Coffee in the Spokane Valley. After a go at cupcakes, we were asked to look into cake pops. We didn't know too much about them, except that another retail chain carried them. After lots of research, we decided to try it. It has taken the business to places we never thought. We are constantly talking about new flavor combinations and perfecting the most popular ones. Now, we are in several different coffee stands in the Spokane Valley, and look forward to expanding even further and eventually having a store front.
Rick still loves baking and decorating cakes. It is still a passion, perfecting a design or vision of a customer.
Whether it is cakes or cake pops, nothing comes from a box. Rick prides himself on creating products that are fresh, delicious and unique.
A Brief History of Rick Baking Cakes
Rick began making cakes when his son, Michael, turned two. Michael was in love with "Choo-Choo" trains, so Rick bought a shaped pan and went to work. It turned out incredible. Everyone was impressed with Rick's hard work. Plus, the cake tasted good! The following year, it was Lightning McQueen, then Optimus Prime. Rick was then asked to design a cake for an event at his day-job. Again, everyone was impressed. Since then, Rick has been making cakes for birthdays and is currently helping with two different school fundraisers. He puts his heart and soul into each cake he makes and accepts only perfection. He continues to educate himself on different decorating techniques and has begun making "any occasion" cakes too. Of course, he will make a cake for any special event, but nothing makes him happier than seeing the look on a child's face when they see their custom birthday cake made and delivered by Rick.
